What is a fiber umbrella frame, and how is it different from a metal frame?
A fiber frame uses fiberglass ribs. It is lighter than a steel frame, the ribs do not rust, and they flex under a gust instead of staying rigid. The runner and fittings are still metal.
Are fiberglass umbrella frames good for windy weather?
Yes. Fiberglass ribs flex under wind pressure instead of staying rigid, which is why they are used on golf umbrellas. Wind performance still depends on the complete umbrella.
Which rib thickness should I choose?
For everyday umbrellas, the 27 inch 8-rib fiber frame with 3.5/4.5 mm ribs. For bigger, premium umbrellas, the 30 inch 8-rib golf fiber frame with 3.8/4.8 mm ribs.
What is the difference between a 2 fold auto and a 3 fold fully automatic frame?
A 2 fold auto frame opens with a button and closes by hand; it folds once, so it is longer when closed and gives more cover. A 3 fold fully automatic frame opens and closes with the same button and folds twice to fit a bag.
Which sizes are available in the folding frames?
The 2 fold auto frame comes in 21, 23, 24 and 27 inch; the 3 fold fully automatic frame in 21 and 23 inch. Tell us the size and quantity you need in the enquiry.
What does 8K mean in a frame specification?
8K means 8 ribs. The 23, 27 and 30 inch frames on this page are 8-rib frames.
Which garden umbrella frame size should I choose?
36 inch suits small stalls and balconies, 40 inch is the common size for vegetable, fruit and tea stalls, and the 48 inch windproof frame gives the most cover and wind strength.
Are the garden frames weather-resistant?
They are made with a metal shaft and ribs for outdoor use; store them dry and check the joints. The 48 inch windproof frame is built heavier (4.0 mm ribs, 28/32 mm tube) for windier places.
What does the tube size 22/25 mean?
It is the diameter of the two shaft sections in millimetres — the 22 mm upper tube slides into the 25 mm lower tube.
Is the carton quantity the minimum order?
No. The carton quantity is how many frames are packed in one carton. Tell us the quantity you need and we will confirm it in your quotation.
Are replacement ribs and poles available?
Yes — we supply replacement ribs, poles, caps and joints for repairs. Share the frame size and a photo so we can match it.
